What is an EIN?
An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a unique identifier that is assigned to a business entity so that it can easily be identified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Where can I find it?
Your EIN can be found on the tax returns, applications for bank accounts or credit, on any state licences or permits, or on forms used to report work done as an independent contractor or payments made by your business.

What is a BN?
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) assigns a Business Number (BN) to identify a business, incorporated company or society. The number stays with a business or organization while it's operating.
Where can I find it?
Your BN can be found on the certificate of incorporation, amalgamation or continuance or on most correspondence from Corporations Canada.
You only need to provide the first 9-digits, indicated in this example:
